Clean living at home

For years I have been conscious about what products I put on my body and in my home. Since moving off-grid, I have taken this to a new level of consciousness because I realize that I was disregarding some of my footprint in the city because sadly; the standards of the city were so low and dangerously toxic. Since this land is untouched and since we will be living off of it, I have a new heightened awareness of what I’m letting touch the soil. I’m conscious of water consumption, I no longer use scented detergent or liquids but now use essential oils which are better for us anyway. Whether you are considering making a change to cleaner products or are already on the bandwagon, these are some of my favorite products with low or no toxic chemicals

Laundry - Branch Basics liquid and Branch Basics brightening powder, Borax, Lavant oil

Kitchen - Rosie’s dish soap, Branch Basics dishwashing tabs, L’avant multipurpose spray

Bathroom - Branch Basics and L’avant  (see a theme? :))

Furniture polish - Aunt Fannie’s wood surface spray and for our cutting boards we use some soapy water and a walnut oil rub.

Baking soda, vinegar, and borax are also great staples to have on hand that clean anything. Add a little lavender or citrus oil and you are set.
