Seasonal baking

There is something about a warm peach cobbler or galette that signifies fall in the middle peach season here.

Our garden is just starting to sow seedlings so for now, I am loving sourcing from the local farmers in town. It’s been a great way to meet new people in the community and learn about seasonal growing in this region. The big city had big farms from big companies so we always had access to everything regardless of the season. In our new town, the local farms have a seasonal mindset.  This feels like a more organic way of farming and I’m here for it. Allowing the land and environment to provide for us on a seasonal timeline feels so balanced and I slowly feel my body aligning to the natural rhythm.

This dessert has been on our dinner menu for a few weeks now and it’s delicious.

Tip: I started buying my produce in bulk from the farmers and freezing what I don’t use immediately. It’s a great way stock up for future use.
